Happy Easter! Join The CatholicTV Network as we continue our joyous celebration of the Octave of Easter. We welcome Father Adrian Milik, pastor of Holy Ghost in Whitman and St. Bridget in Abington, as our celebrant for this sacred liturgy.
In today’s reverent Homily, Father Milik reflects on the "countless blessings and joys" that the Easter season brings to our lives. Drawing from St. Peter’s bold witness in the Acts of the Apostles and the account of the empty tomb in Matthew’s Gospel, we explore the definitive victory of Jesus over death. We are encouraged to let the grace of this Paschal Sacrament abound in our minds, transforming us into worthy witnesses of the Resurrection. This Mass is a powerful invitation to go in peace, loving and serving the Lord by sharing the Good News that Christ is truly risen.
The Scriptures highlight the apostolic proclamation and the reality of the Risen Lord:
-The First Reading (Acts 2:14, 22-33): On the day of Pentecost, Peter stands with the Eleven and proclaims to the people that Jesus of Nazareth, a man commended by God through mighty deeds, was raised from the dead. He testifies that it was impossible for Jesus to be held by death and that the Apostles are all witnesses to His exaltation at the right hand of the Father.
-The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 16): A song of hope: "Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope".
-The Holy Gospel (Matthew 28:8-15): Mary Magdalene and the other Mary run from the tomb with "fear and great joy" to announce the news to the disciples. Jesus meets them on the way, saying, "Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me". Meanwhile, the guards report the empty tomb to the chief priests, who bribe them to spread a false story that the disciples stole the body while they slept.
May the grace of this celebration set us on the way of eternal salvation and make us worthy of God's heavenly gifts.

-Season: Monday within the Octave of Easter.

-Homily Key Message: We are called to "love and serve the Lord" with renewed hearts; as we celebrate these sacred mysteries, we ask that the grace of this Paschal season "abound in our minds," making us worthy witnesses of the salvation Christ has won for us.
