Jesus didn’t start a Bible study… He started a Church.
Too often, Catholics are criticized by people who have never taken the time to understand what the Catholic Church actually teaches.
In this clip, four Protestant commentators discuss Catholicism, but one major question gets overlooked:
If institutions are bad, why did Jesus establish one?
Jesus appointed apostles. He gave them authority. He told them to baptize. He gave them the Eucharist. He gave them the power to forgive sins. He didn’t leave behind a table of contents—He left behind a Church.
The Catholic faith isn’t built on man-made traditions. It’s built on Christ, handed down through the apostles, and preserved through 2,000 years of apostolic succession.
You don’t have to agree with Catholicism, but at least critique what Catholics actually believe.
What do you think? Did Jesus found a Church or leave everyone to figure it out for themselves?
