On October 20th, the Church honors St. Caprus (Caprasius) of Agen, a courageous Christian bishop and martyr who lived during the early persecutions of the Church. When his flock was scattered, St. Caprus continued to minister to the faithful in secret — even at the risk of his own life.

Inspired by the martyrdom of St. Faith (October 6), he boldly confessed his faith before the pagan prefect and refused to renounce Christ, choosing eternal life over imperial favor. Alongside Primo, Feliciano, and Alberta, he gave his life for the Faith, inspiring many others to convert and accept martyrdom themselves.

Though parts of this story are legendary, history confirms that St. Caprus of Agen was a real bishop honored in the early Church. His steadfast faith remains a timeless example of Christian courage and devotion.
