Fr. Brent Bowman Wept at the Chalice and How many priests act is if they don't believe at all?

Fr. Brent Bowman wept at the consecration and said the chalice grew too heavy to lift — because, in his words, he was given "internal knowledge of the power of these words."
Years ago at a Houston daily Mass, I watched a priest consecrate one-handed, eyes on the book, then plop the monstrance on the altar and walk off. Same Mass. Same words. Two very different men.
On September 14, 2026, at St. Gabriel the Archangel in Hopkins, Minnesota, a newly ordained priest broke down at the words of consecration during a livestreamed Mass. The clip went everywhere. Fr. Bowman has since clarified that this was a private grace, not a Eucharistic miracle — "every Mass is a Eucharistic miracle." That line is the whole point. God condescended to dwell among us, and the magnitude of that is greater than any of us can fathom. One priest was humbled by it. I tell you about another who, as far as I could see, wasn't. We are all, if we're honest, more like the second man than the first.
