Alleluia! Join The CatholicTV Network as we continue the joyous celebration of Easter Thursday within the Octave of Easter. We gather to celebrate the "victory of Jesus over death" and to be restored to eternal life through the power of His Resurrection.
In today’s reverent liturgy, the celebrant explores the profound mystery of Christ as our High Priest who brings us reconciliation through His likeness to ourselves. Drawing from St. Peter’s powerful discourse in Solomon’s Portico and Jesus’ physical appearance to His startled disciples, we reflect on how the "Author of life" was raised from the dead to wipe away our sins. We are encouraged to increase the fruits of this Paschal Sacrament within our hearts, allowing the strength of this "saving food" to transform us into true witnesses of these sacred things. This Mass is a powerful invitation to "repent and be converted," receiving the peace that only the Risen Lord can provide.
The Scriptures highlight the courage of the Apostles and the supremacy of Christ:
-The First Reading (Acts 5:27-33): The Apostles are brought before the Sanhedrin for teaching in Jesus' name. Peter and the Apostles boldly declare that they "must obey God rather than men," testifying that God exalted Jesus as Leader and Savior to grant repentance and forgiveness.
-The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 34): A cry of trust and deliverance: "The Lord hears the cry of the poor".
-The Holy Gospel (John 3:31-36): John the Baptist testifies to Jesus’ divine origin, noting that "the one who comes from heaven is above all". Most importantly, we hear the promise that God "does not ration his gift of the Spirit" to those He has sent.
May the Most Holy Body and Blood of the Son make us true witnesses of His love as we celebrate these eternal mysteries.

Theological & Liturgical Context
-Season: Thursday within the Octave of Easter.
-Gospel Focus: The Continuity of the Messiah; Jesus emphasizes that His Risen Body is the same that suffered, proving the fulfillment of the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms. He transforms the disciples' "startled and terrified" state into an apostolic mission to bring "pardon and peace" to the sinner.
-Homily Key Message: We are called to "be renewed in holiness of mind and heart"; as an Easter people, we rely on the intercession of Christ our High Priest to free us from our sins and strengthen us through the "saving food" of the Eucharist.
