Today, the Church celebrates the feast of Saint Dominic. Founder of the Order of Preachers, Saint Dominic had a compassionate heart, a zeal for the salvation of souls and a deep desire that all the hear the Gospel message.

From the entrance to the cloister of the Minerva in Rome, Fr. Patrick shares the meaning behind a beautiful fresco featuring Saint Dominic. In this fresco, we see Saint Dominic asleep, having a mystical vision that confirmed his hope to found the Order of Preachers.

At the top of the fresco, the Blessed Virgin Mary is blessing this project. From the fruits of Saint Dominic's prayer and mystical experience, spring forth the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. Through these mysteries we meditate on the life of Jesus Christ, as they teach us how to follow his example and live out the Christian life.
