Pope Leo XIV made a historic visit to Monaco, marking the first papal visit in the modern era to the small but wealthy principality. Speaking to residents, he urged them to use their prosperity to aid those in need and cautioned against the “idolatry of wealth and power.” During his visit, the Pope met with Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco at the Prince’s Palace before greeting the local Catholic community at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. In his addresses, Pope Leo XIV reminded the faithful that every life lost to violence wounds the body of Christ and encouraged others to bring happiness into the world through their faith by manifesting authentic joy through God’s love. EWTN Vatican journalist Valentina Di Donato reports.
