Known as “the Scholastic” for his great learning, St. Serapion stood alongside St. Athanasius in defending the truth of the Holy Trinity against dangerous heresies like Arianism and Macedonianism.
After leading the catechetical school of Alexandria, he withdrew into the desert to pursue holiness—only to be called back into the world as a bishop. Even in exile, he remained steadfast, combating error and proclaiming the truth of Christ.
