Before he became Pope Leo, Robert Prevost was already at home in Rome

Before he became Pope Leo XIV, Robert Prevost found a spiritual home in Rome’s Augustinian community.
At the General Curia near Vatican City, he studied, built lifelong bonds and celebrated his 1982 ordination alongside another Augustinian also named Bob. For the young friars far from their families, the community at St. Monica’s offered more than a place to live, it offered belonging.
