At the Canonization Mass for seven new saints, Pope Leo XIV reflected on Jesus’ haunting question: “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”
During Mass in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope proclaimed these seven Blesseds to be canonized Saints in the Catholic Church: Ignatius Choukrallah Maloyan, Peter To Rot, Vincenza Maria Poloni, Maria del Monte Carmelo Rendiles Martínez, Maria Troncatti, José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, and Bartolo Longo.
The Holy Father reminded the faithful that faith is the bond of love between God and humanity, the light that gives meaning to every treasure of the world. He urged believers to pray without ceasing, to trust in God’s justice even when evil seems to prevail, and to recognize that God’s justice is mercy revealed on the Cross.
Highlighting the lives of the newly canonized saints, Pope Leo XIV called them “authentic men and women, witnesses who kept the lamp of faith burning.” Their example inspires us to persevere in prayer, act with mercy, and live in hope until Christ returns.
