Luke 9:7-9 “Herod sought to see Jesus.”

There is an old saying, possibly attributed to Shakespeare, that states: “Curiosity killed the cat”. Being overly curious or nosy can get us into trouble. Today's Gospel presents us with Herod Antipas, who eventually became a co-conspirator in the death of Jesus. He seeks after Jesus, but with an unhealthy sense of curiosity: he wants Jesus on his own terms. This reminds us of the need to consider our own approach to the Lord.
