Virgin Martyr Saint Febronia of Nisibis is commemorated on June 25. Raised in a monastery in Assyria under the guidance of her aunt, Abbess Bryaena, St. Febronia devoted herself completely to Christ through prayer, fasting, and the reading of Holy Scripture.

During the savage persecutions under Emperor Diocletian, she was arrested and commanded to renounce Christ. Refusing every promise of wealth, honor, and marriage, she boldly confessed that Christ alone was her eternal Bridegroom.

She endured horrific torture with unwavering faith before finally receiving the crown of martyrdom. Her steadfast witness inspired conversions among soldiers, noble citizens, and many who witnessed her suffering. Miracles continued to occur through her holy relics, and her memory remains a powerful testimony to the victory of Christ over cruelty and death.

May the holy prayers of Saint Febronia strengthen us to remain faithful to Christ in every trial.
