The Urban Dictionary is more useful these days than the traditional dictionary, as half of the new words and phrases these days are nonsensical products of algorithmic censorship and meme culture. But, as Orwell says in 'Politics and the English Language', the meaninglessness of our speech may have an effect not just on our thoughts, but on our society at large as we become machines “mechanically repeating the familiar phrases.”
