Sixteen seminarians from the Pontifical North American College were ordained to the transitional diaconate in St. Peter’s Basilica — a profound moment of faith and commitment to Christ. Surrounded by family, friends, and fellow pilgrims, the men pledged their lives to serve God and His Church, responding to His eternal call to holiness.
Bishop Joseph Hanefeldt of Grand Island, Nebraska, reminded them that they were known and chosen by God from the beginning, urging them to cultivate a deep love for the people of God. Through prayer, the laying on of hands, and the Litany of the Saints, each man received the grace of the Holy Spirit and the mission to proclaim the Gospel.
🎥 Watch as these future priests begin their journey of service in the heart of the Church — near the tomb of St. Peter himself.
