Joe Heschmeyer of Shameless Popery and Benedictine College recently weighed in on the proper Catholic relationship to modern Jews. Anthony Abbate breaks down where that framing falls apart — and why, since Vatican II, what looks like ecumenical dialogue is actually the infiltration of the Sanhedrin into the Catholic faith.

The argument is direct: modern Judaism is not the Judaism of the Old Testament. The Old Covenant was fulfilled in Christ. What remains — defined by its explicit rejection of Christ — is, by definition, an antichrist religion. And Scripture itself, in Christ's words to the Sanhedrin and in Genesis 3:15, draws the line between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent.
