The U.S. Supreme Court is set to issue a major ruling on May 11 focused on how abortion pills are prescribed nationwide. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently moved to reinstate in-person dispensing requirements for mifepristone, but the Supreme Court temporarily paused that order to give all parties more time to respond. Meanwhile, Louisiana is asking the High Court to let the lower court’s ruling take effect. So what happens next? We’re joined by Michael New of the Charlotte Lozier Institute and The Catholic University of America to break it all down, including what happens when the Court’s temporary stay expires, what role the FDA will play moving forward, and whether in-person dispensing requirements could ultimately be reinstated.
