In today’s episode I’m reviewing an interview that Gavin Ortlund did with an atheist. Do Protestants and atheists face the same dilemma when it comes to objective truth? I think they do and I break down why. The atheist comes to terms and is at peace living in a reality where objective truth cannot be known. All of reality is subjective. I think the protestant position is the same. They all make the claim that they have objective truth, but when that plays out in the evangelical world, and you strip away the infallibility of the Church to be able to declare authoritatively what is objectively true, all that you are left with is a subjective reality. Why do we hate authority? Authority is good and it is the answer to the radical individualism that we face today. Is the reformation the root of secular ideology? Does atheism flow out of the same well? Is antiquity bad thing? Join me today as I explore some of these ideas.
