Saint Paul prayed for relief from his thorn in the flesh, but God denied his request three times. This is why.
We often assume that faithfulness guarantees the removal of our struggles. This video walks through Paul's own account of his thorn in the flesh in 2 Corinthians 12, what he believed it was actually protecting him from, and the answer he received instead of the removal he asked for. We follow that same thread through Romans 5 and Romans 8, where Paul describes suffering producing something specific rather than simply continuing in place, and into Colossians 1:24, where he makes one of the strangest claims in the entire New Testament about what his own suffering was doing for others.
This is not a video promising that suffering always makes sense in the moment it is happening. It is an honest look at what one of the most significant figures in Christian history actually did with a pain that never left, and what he found on the other side of being told no.
