Today’s Topic & Guest:
Dr. Klaudia Rosińska | University of Social and Media Culture in Toruń
Today, we’re pivoting from our usual programming. We’re speaking with Klaudia Rosińska, who is a lecturer at the University of Social and Media Culture in Toruń. She’s also a key advisor to the Polish government on AI regulation.
I met Klaudia recently at the speech I gave at the Catholic University of America. When we spoke, I was drawn to her unique focus on social media and misinformation (for the record, I hate that word).
Today’s conversation is a bit of a reality check. I’m not an AI Doomer by any means. But we discussed some of the downsides. Even if you aren't a software founder, this episode will teach you a thing or two about how to use AI without sacrificing your inherent uniqueness and giftedness.
Core Lesson:
You were given a Will and an Intellect for a reason — do NOT under any circumstances let them turn useless because “AI is just so much better”
God gave us a will and an intellect. These allow us to experience things inside of time. The order of those experiences changes us.
Time. That’s the key factor.
It’s a unique gift that only we have. Even the angels don’t have the same ‘set up.’ They were given knowledge and made a choice. We are shaped by the experiences that happen over time.
And how eager are so many people to toss that out the window all because AI can do it faster? AI can share data with you. But it cannot replicate the experience of learning and education. Sure, data might help you make better decisions (assuming it’s accurate). But the time of soaking in certain data points — pondering them — allowing them to stew in your heart… that is a critical component of your growth and wisdom from the original data.
Experiences can also be this. God uses experiences a lot to shape us. He’s intentional about what experiences we encounter.
So, without going on and on… recognize that AI has the potential of leading you to forget about one of the biggest gifts that God has given you. Your ability to contemplate, turning things over with your intellect, then willing them into your life. All through the passage of time. Yes — an intentional slowing of process. In order to allow it to transform you.
Don’t give that gift up.
Sure. Use AI as an aide, but don’t be in a rush to use it for everything. Don’t outsource your thinking and decision-making.
God Bless & Happy Building!
