A Catholic group is calling for the protection of all humanitarian workers as violence escalates in global conflict zones. Nearly 128 humanitarian workers have been killed so far in 2025—a rise from last year. In response, Caritas Internationalis, the humanitarian action arm of the Catholic Church, launched an appeal to defend those risking their lives to help others. The Director of Programs of Caritas in Ukraine and the Director of Integral Human Development for Caritas Internationalis share insights into the aid being provided and the hardships aid workers face while helping people rebuild and remain resilient—all while being a witness to the faith. EWTN Vatican Correspondent Valentina Di Donato reports.
