On January 8, the Church commemorates Venerable Saint Dominica of Constantinople, a holy virgin renowned for her miracles, ascetic life, and prophetic gifts.

Saint Dominica came from Caria and lived a life wholly dedicated to God. Through divine grace, she healed the sick, demonstrated power over the natural elements, and foretold future events. Her miracles moved the inhabitants of Constantinople to repentance, reminding them of eternal life and the beauty of a soul adorned with virtue.

Living as a spotless virgin, Saint Dominica bore witness to Christ through humility, prayer, and spiritual strength. By her holy example, many were turned away from worldly concerns and toward salvation. She departed this life in peace, leaving behind a legacy of holiness and faith.
