One of the most important art shows in the world, the Venice Biennale, is currently underway, and the "art" on view, notably the dangerous and disgusting stunts by Austrian artist Florentina Holzinger, is not real art, but a mockery. Importantly, this "art"--which usually features themes of explicit content and/or violence--actually affects our lives: art shapes society, not the other way around.
