Happy First Sunday of Advent!
Today the Church begins a season that isn’t about slowing down… it’s about waking up.
Jesus tells us in today’s Gospel, “Stay awake, for you do not know the day your Lord will come.”
And the Church reminds us that Christ comes in three powerful ways:
👉 He came at Christmas in Bethlehem,
👉 He will come again at the Last Judgment,
👉 and He comes right now—into our hearts, our habits, and our daily choices.
This first day of Advent isn’t just a countdown to Christmas.
It’s a wake-up call to let Christ break into our lives today.
So how do we stay awake?
By living with faith that burns inside us and works of love that people can actually see.
When we live this way, our hands become Christ’s hands in the world—and our hearts become ready for His coming.
