St. Rupert of Salzburg, a man of royal birth, became far greater through holiness, humility, and heroic virtue. Renouncing worldly prestige, he embraced fasting, prayer, chastity, and radical charity—giving everything to the poor.

Driven from Worms for his sanctity, St. Rupert was called by Duke Theodo of Bavaria to evangelize a land fallen into paganism and heresy. Through preaching, miracles, and unwavering zeal, he converted entire regions, baptized rulers and people alike, and restored the light of the Gospel.

He founded the great See of Salzburg, established monasteries, and brought holy missionaries to rebuild Christian life in the region. His legacy endures as the Apostle of Bavaria.
