John 13: 15 - 17

"I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do. 16Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger* greater than the one who sent him. 17If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it."

In the Last Supper (and throughout his earthly life) Jesus presents himself as our model, our Savior, and the one who sends us to serve others. Pope Leo XIV, in his first homily, speaks to us of how the profession “‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” ought to guide the lives of each one of us.
