When we struggle psychologically, it can feel different from struggling physically. Instead of thinking, “Something is wrong with a part of me,” we can begin to think, “Something is wrong with me.”
In a recent Godsplaining episode on Faith and Mental Health, Fr. Gregory and Fr. Bonaventure discuss the importance of destigmatizing mental health struggles while maintaining a fuller understanding of the human person. Our psychological health is a real and important part of who we are, but it isn't the whole of who we are. As embodied souls, our physical, psychological, and spiritual lives are deeply interconnected.
How can recognizing this help us approach mental health with greater freedom, compassion, and clarity? Tune into the full episode for more.
