Dr Carrie Gress, author of The End of Woman and Something Wicked, joins David Hahn to dismantle the myth that feminism was a grassroots movement for women, tracing its roots to Mary Wollstonecraft and the poet Percy Shelley, and showing how contempt for men, promiscuity and the occult became its recurring pattern. She argues that feminism and Christianity cannot be merged, that real womanhood is bound up with fertility and motherhood rather than the "accidents" of independence, and that the sexual revolution left both men and women worse off. Gress also offers a path forward, from healthy models of marriage and motherhood to men and women rebuilding trust through ordered friendship rather than mutual contempt.
