Welcome! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Daily Catholic Mass celebration on this Saturday of the Second Week of Lent.
In today’s stirring Homily, the celebrant explores the "tender love and mercy" God has for every one of us. Drawing from the profound Parable of the Prodigal Son, he reflects on how God does not "persist in anger" but delights in clemency, casting our sins into the depths of the sea. We are reminded that no matter how far we may wander, the Father is always watching the horizon, ready to welcome us back with a "glorious healing remedy". This Mass is a powerful invitation to move beyond our past mistakes and become "partakers of the things of heaven," trusting that God’s grace is greater than any "burden" we carry.
The Scriptures highlight the unyielding faithfulness and extravagant forgiveness of our God:
-The First Reading (Micah 7:14-15, 18-20): The prophet Micah petitions the Lord to shepherd His people with His staff, recalling the wonders of the Exodus. He proclaims the unique nature of our God: "Who is there like you, the God who removes guilt and pardons sin?".
-The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 103): A song of Divine compassion: "The Lord is kind and merciful".
-The Holy Gospel (Luke 15:1-3, 11-32): Jesus tells the parable of a father and his two sons. When the younger son returns home after squandering his inheritance, the father runs to meet him, filled with compassion. Despite the resentment of the elder brother, the father insists on celebrating, declaring: "My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours. But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found".
May these Divine Sacraments fill the inner depths of our hearts and make us true partakers of God’s grace.
