Born into a noble family in Anjou with ties to the court of Charlemagne, St. Meneve desired only one thing from childhood—to belong entirely to Jesus Christ. When his parents arranged a prestigious marriage, he abandoned worldly honors and fled to Auvergne, where he embraced the monastic life under the guidance of holy abbots. After years of humble obedience and formation, he founded and governed his own monastery with remarkable holiness until his death around A.D. 720.

His life reminds Christians that the greatest nobility is found not in earthly rank, but in complete surrender to God.
