A bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced the Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Reauthorization Act of 2025 to secure $280 million over the next five years to fund national cord blood and bone marrow transplant programs. The legislation is being hailed as a major victory for the pro-life movement because, instead of using embryos, it utilizes post-birth placentas and umbilical cord blood. Supporters say this type of research has already saved thousands of lives—even curing some forms of cancer. Doctors say the bill gives patients a fighting chance.
