Father Leo examines how Catholics should approach voting in upcoming elections, arguing that faith and church teachings should shape political positions rather than political agendas defining one's faith. He cautions voters against relying on politicians or popular figures who use distorted religious arguments to promote government social programs, emphasizing that moral issues must take precedence over political rhetoric. Analyzing specific political figures and candidates, the speaker warns that certain approaches to faith in politics can be misleading and contrary to Catholic principles. He encourages believers to form their consciences through prayer, scripture, and church doctrine instead of reacting with emotion or partisan bias. Additionally, he urges Catholics to focus on local civic involvement and community action rather than depending on the government to address societal needs.
