Matthew 19: 27 - 30

Lord, «You can see that we have left everything to follow You! What then will there be for us?»

«Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.» When God promises something, He always delivers.

So, if I don’t see it, it could be for two reasons.

Because I haven’t given up everything.
Maybe because I don’t know how to look.

Jesus gives us the hundredfold in the way He knows we need. The best way. The one that suits us. And not the one we often expect.

We’re often like the older brother in the Parable of the Prodigal Son… complaining that we don’t have a barbecue “with the fattened kid” and we miss to enjoy living every day in the Father’s house, where the Father says to his son:

«Everything that is mine is yours»… All my fattened kids are yours!
