The Bible names four brothers of Jesus — James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas — and mentions his sisters. So how do Catholics defend Mary's perpetual virginity? In this episode of Catholic Bible Highlights, Kenny Burchard and Dave Armstrong work through 14 Bible verses that follow a second Mary through the Gospels, all the way to the cross. She's the mother of James and Joseph — not the mother of Jesus. The New Testament names her five times by her sons, connects her to Clopas at the crucifixion, and never once calls her children sons of Mary. The Protestant argument that the Bible gives no explanation collapses under the weight of its own evidence.
