Once, every Catholic priest swore an oath against modernism. It was required from 1910 to 1967. Bishops, theologians, seminary faculty, all took it. Pope St. Pius X called modernism "the synthesis of all heresies." It was not a mild warning. It was a diagnosis of a spiritual sickness that would attack the very foundation of divine revelation.

Today, ask the average Catholic what modernism is. Many will not know. Ask when they last heard a sermon about it. Many will say never. The solemn warning has become invisible, not repealed, not denied, but neglected into practical nullification.

It asks the question that faithful Catholics cannot avoid: if modernism remains the synthesis of all heresies, why is it never preached? Why is it never taught?

The answer is not anger. The answer is not despair. The answer is fidelity. Study the faith. Pray for the Church. Remain rooted in Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The crisis is real. The warning was given. The question is whether Catholics will remember before it is too late.
