St. Miguel de Sanctis, born in Catalonia in the late 16th century, showed signs of holiness from a very young age. Inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi, he embraced prayer, penance, and deep devotion even as a child.

After the death of his parents, Miguel faithfully fulfilled his duties in the world while dedicating his free time entirely to God—attending the Divine Office and praying daily. Eventually, he entered the Trinitarian Order, embracing a life of reform, poverty, and sacrifice.

As a priest and superior, St. Miguel became known for his humility, prudence, and extraordinary love for the Blessed Sacrament. During Mass, he was often lifted into ecstasy—completely absorbed in divine union. God also worked many miracles through him both during his life and after his death.

He died young, at just 36 years old, on April 10, 1625, but left behind a powerful witness of holiness rooted in purity, penance, and Eucharistic devotion.
