Over the weekend, Pope Leo sent a message of encouragement to the 46th edition of the Rimini Meeting, an annual lay Catholic festival which took place in Italy. In his message, he urged every community to become a “house of peace,” where hostility is defused through dialogue, justice is practiced, and forgiveness is cherished. Organized by the Communion and Liberation Movement and originating in the 1970s, the event gathers Church leaders, political figures, and experts to share their ideas for creating a better tomorrow. This year’s theme, “In vacant places, we will build with new bricks,” reflected the Meeting’s mission to promote peace in a world increasingly torn by war, poverty, and hatred. During the event, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, Archbishop of Bologna and President of the Italian Bishops’ Conference, celebrated Mass for all participants and explained what it means to be a brick for peace. EWTN Vatican Correspondent Valentina Di Donato reports.
