Pope Leo XIV Set to Release First Encyclical of His Papacy | EWTN News Nightly

Pope Leo XIV will soon release the first encyclical of his papacy on May 25. An encyclical is a papal letter, typically addressed to the whole Church and people of goodwill, outlining the Pope’s guidance on matters of faith, morals, and key issues facing the world today. The title is "Magnifica Humanitas: On the Protection of Human Dignity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." The Pope signed the encyclical on a very symbolic date: May 15, the anniversary of the 1891 promulgation of another similar encyclical, Rerum Novarum, written by Pope Leo XIII, which addressed the dignity of workers in the face of the profound impact of the Industrial Revolution.
