St. Julian of Dalmatia is commemorated on July 28 as one of the courageous young martyrs of the early Church who chose fidelity to Jesus Christ over earthly life. During the reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius, Julian boldly confessed the Christian faith before Roman authorities, endured imprisonment, torture, and repeated interrogations, and remained steadfast despite every attempt to make him worship idols.

Strengthened by heavenly encouragement and ministered to by an angel while imprisoned, St. Julian preached Christ even while suffering. His fearless witness inspired more than thirty people to embrace Christianity, and through God's power the idols of a pagan temple were destroyed. Refusing every compromise, Julian joyfully accepted martyrdom, hearing the Lord's voice calling him to the Kingdom before he was beheaded.

His life reminds every Christian that true courage comes from God, that faith triumphs over fear, and that no earthly suffering compares to the glory prepared for those who remain faithful to Christ.

May the prayers of St. Julian of Dalmatia strengthen us to boldly profess our faith in every circumstance.
