This year felt especially personal for me. Last year I attended this event nine months pregnant… and this time my baby actually had her OWN invite to the White House!! From juggling a baby who refused to nap, to navigating Secret Service hallways during a mid-speech meltdown, this day was the most real depiction of working mom life you could imagine.

But what struck me the most was the message coming from the administration: a renewed focus on restoring the American family and honoring the role of mothers in shaping the next generation.

In a culture that constantly tells young women motherhood is a burden, hearing the President and First Lady celebrate moms — while I held my daughter in the room — was honestly surreal.
