Happy Fourth of July.
Most Americans know the names George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. But almost nobody knows the story of the Catholic family that helped shape the United States from its very beginning.
In this video, we look at the remarkable lives of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence, Daniel Carroll, who helped write and sign the Constitution, and Bishop John Carroll, America's first Catholic bishop and founder of Georgetown University.
At a time when Catholics couldn't vote, hold public office, or openly practice their faith in many of the colonies, these men helped lay the foundations of the nation we celebrate today.
If you're Catholic, this is part of your history.
If you enjoyed this video, I'd love for you to subscribe and share it with someone before the Fourth of July. There's a good chance they've never heard this story either.
God bless you, and Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸✝️
