The Holy Hieromartyrs Nicander, Bishop of Myra, and Hermas the Presbyter were faithful disciples of the Apostle Paul and companions of St. Titus of the Seventy. Ordained by Titus to the priesthood, they devoted their lives to asceticism, prayer, and tireless pastoral service, converting many pagans to Christ.

Their faith and devotion brought them before the pagan prefect Libanius, who subjected them to brutal tortures for refusing to renounce Christ. Despite being dragged over stones, torn with iron hooks, and thrown into a fiery oven, the Lord strengthened them beyond human endurance. In the end, iron nails were driven into their heads and hearts, and their bodies were buried alive in a pit.

Their steadfast witness to Christ shines as a powerful example of faith, courage, and divine grace. The Church commemorates these holy martyrs on November 4.
