A new report suggests that the Catholic Church in the U.S. appears to be entering a period of renewed growth. According to Catholic researcher Shane Schaetzel, 2024 marked the first year since 2000 in which more adults entered the Church than left it. His data also projects that 160,000 adult Americans will enter the Church this year—more than double the number in 2020. Hans Plate, founder and president of Vinea Research, joins to discuss the report’s findings. He shares what might be attributed to this surge and whether the first American pope might play a part in this renewed growth.
