Welcome! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Daily Catholic Mass celebration on this Monday of the Fourth Week of Lent.
In today’s reverent Homily, Father Chris Bae reflects on the "mysteries beyond all telling" through which God renews the world. Drawing from the promise of the Prophet Isaiah and the healing of the royal official's son, Father Bae explores how God's Word brings life by making us new. We are encouraged to trust in the Lord’s mercy, especially in times of affliction, and to allow the "holy gifts" of the Eucharist to lead us toward things eternal. This Mass is a powerful invitation to move beyond the search for "signs and wonders" and to simply believe in the Word that Jesus speaks to us today.
The Scriptures highlight the joy of God’s new creation and the efficacy of Christ’s command:
-The First Reading (Isaiah 65:17-21): The Lord announces the creation of "new heavens and a new earth," where the past shall not be remembered. He commands His people to rejoice forever in what He creates, promising a Jerusalem that is a joy and a people that are a delight, where the sound of weeping shall be heard no more.
-The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 30): A song of thanksgiving for deliverance: "I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me".
-The Holy Gospel (John 4:43-54): Jesus returns to Cana in Galilee, where a royal official begs Him to heal his son who is near death. Jesus tells him, "You may go; your son will live," and the man believes the Word spoken to him. Upon discovering the boy was healed at the exact moment Jesus spoke, the official and his whole household come to believe.
May we always ponder what is worthy and love the Lord in all sincerity as we are sanctified through these sacred mysteries.
