A victory for life in the unusual Republican gubernatorial primary in Kansas that pitted a pro-abortion candidate against one supported by Kansans for Life and Pres. Trump. Pro-lifer Ty Masterson wins with around 42% of the vote. Pro-abortion candidate Vicki Schmidt is set to finish third, with around 14%. Peter Northcott, executive director of Kansans for Life, says Masterson’s victory is good news on a night where another pro-life ballot initiative was defeated. He also says it is unusual for the candidate receiving the endorsement of the influential Kansas Fam Bureau, as Schmidt did, to finish third. And he previews the election in November between Masterson and Democratic nominee Cindy Holscher.
