Lay Catholic leaders, including NFL star Harrison Butker and podcaster Michael Knowles, gathered at the Regina Caeli Academy’s Courage Under Fire Gala to spotlight parental rights at the forefront of the K–12 classical school movement. Keynote speakers included Fr. Mike Schmitz and Matt Walsh. Regina Caeli, a hybrid classical homeschool academy serving Catholic families in 17 states, is part of a broader national trend toward co-op and hybrid education models. Fr. Mike Schmitz offered parents advice on what to consider when it comes to their children's education. While a Johns Hopkins study suggests homeschooling is on the rise, the total number of students in K–12 education is declining as birth rates fall. EWTN journalist Francesca Fenton has more.
