Secretary of State Marco Rubio has unveiled a sweeping plan to reorganize the U.S. State Department, part of the Trump administration’s broader push to reshape foreign policy and reduce the size of the federal government. The plan includes eliminating over 300 domestic offices, cutting 80% of human rights staff, and creating new positions aligned with Trump’s policies. While Rubio says the plan is to prioritize and defend the national interest, Democrats argue it weakens America’s global role and suggest this process is deeply flawed.
