What if we’ve been feeding cognitive decline—literally? In this episode, I explore the hidden connection between dementia, diet, and aging with Hal Kramer, a former US Air Force Special Operations pilot turned assisted living innovator. After careers in aviation and real estate, Hal entered the senior care world and discovered a disturbing pattern: elderly residents, often forgotten and overmedicated, were being fed processed food that accelerated their decline. So he did something radical—he changed their food and lifestyle instead of increasing medication. Together, we talk about the link between insulin resistance and Alzheimer’s, the healing power of resistance training, and how one man in a wheelchair walked out of Hal’s home after just seven months of clean eating and exercise. This conversation made me rethink how we treat the elderly, what healing really looks like, and how much more is possible—at any age.
