Sa episode na ito ng Istoryang Katoliko, pag-uusapan natin ang isang kontrobersyal pero napapanahong isyu na sumasalamin sa moral crisis ng ating lipunan ngayon—ang pagganap ni Pura Luka Vega bilang “Jesus” sa isang drag performance at ang malalim na tanong na bumabagabag sa maraming Katoliko:

Sa artikulo ng Esquire PH, binigyang-diin ang pahayag niya: “Morality is subjective.” Kasabay nito, na-acquit siya sa ilang kasong isinampa laban sa kanya. Pero bilang Katoliko, ang tanong ay hindi lang “Wala ba siyang kasalanan sa batas?” kundi:
“May sala ba siya sa harap ng Diyos?”

Sa episode na ito, hihimayin natin ang turo ng Simbahan tungkol sa moral relativism, blasphemy, at kung bakit hindi sapat ang intention kung mali naman ang gawa. Tatalakayin din natin ang kahalagahan ng pagsisisi, paggalang sa mga banal, at ang panawagan sa bawat Katoliko na manindigan sa katotohanan kahit pa uso na ang tahimik na pagkikibit-balikat sa harap ng kasalanan.

Kung nararamdaman mong may mali sa kultura ngayon—lalo na kung ginagamit si Hesus sa ngalan ng “art”—baka ito na ang paanyaya sa’yo: hindi lang para magkomento, kundi para tumindig at ipagtanggol ang Banal.

Hindi ito simpleng reaksyon sa isang viral na isyu—ito ay paanyaya sa pagbabalik-loob, sa pagkakaroon ng tapang at malasakit sa ating pananampalataya.
