Cardinals take their solemn oath of secrecy and fidelity for the election of the 267th pontiff. Following Cardinal Parolin's address, each Cardinal elector swears to "faithfully and scrupulously observe" the conclave rules and maintain absolute secrecy regarding the voting process. After the oath, the Master of Papal Liturgical Celebrations will proclaim "Extra omnes" ("Everyone out"), sealing the Chapel for the sacred duty of discernment through prayer and voting.
