In this episode, we dive into the biblical and traditional foundations for the Marian titles Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of All Graces—titles recently downplayed by the Vatican under Leo XIV. Far from being distractions from Christ, these expressions highlight Mary’s unique and singular cooperation in the work of salvation, always subordinate to and totally dependent on her Son.
We explore key scriptural touchpoints—Mary’s free “Fiat” (Lk 1:38), her sharing in Christ’s sufferings at Calvary (Jn 19:25-27; Col 1:24), and her maternal intercession at Cana (Jn 2:1-11)—as well as the voice of Tradition through saints, popes, and councils who affirmed her maternal mediation.
These titles matter because they protect a Christ-centered vision of salvation history: Mary magnifies Jesus, never replaces Him. When Catholics retain these truths, they help the world see Christ’s love more clearly through the maternal heart that leads always to Him.
